Sometimes a little reprogramming is all that’s needed…

Lisa Canning, mentor & dear friend, is such an inspirational woman in my life and in the lives of so many others. She’s a mom of 7, entrepreneur, and coach, helping women live lives of freedom and joy (you might know her as The Possibility Mom).

When I was first starting my online business, she had such an impact on me when it came to how much my thoughts made a difference on, well, everything. I want to share some of those key learnings with you.

I’m sure you’ve heard your mind compared to a computer, but what about in terms of how our minds love habit and are actually programmed to follow existing thought patterns?

In other words, have you considered that what you allow your mind to think keeps you experiencing the same things over and over again?

For example, do you find yourself in a continual pattern of “I have no time,” “I’m so tired,” or “I’m never going to get caught up”?

I have. And then latching onto the belief that only EXTERNAL changes can make this madness stop.

  • When my kids get a little older…
  • When I can just get the laundry under control…
  • When summer is over…
  • When life slows down…

The hard truth is, when you’re juggling all the daily stuff AND want to make a difference in the world, life is not going to slow down. None of this is going to change unless your INTERNAL perception of it changes.

You have the power to change what you think about what’s happening for you in life. Reprogram it.

Instead of, “I have no time…” try “I have all the time I need and I choose how to use it.”

Instead of “I am so tired,” how about “I have the energy I need to do what is important today. I will choose to go to bed early tonight so I get the rest I need.”

Instead of “I am never going to catch up,” make a habit of saying “I can do anything, but I can’t do everything. I will choose my priorities today and focus on one thing at a time.”

You have choices every minute of every day. You can choose how to think, which will, over time, reprogram how you perceive and experience your life, opening up endless possibilities.

What are the phrases that you say to yourself that keep you stuck? And how are you going to reframe them?
