Do you ever find yourself saying (out loud or in your head) one or (all) of these:
- “I don’t have (enough) time to…” or “If I just had more time, I could…”
- “I/we just had more money, I/we could…” or “He/she/they make so much money. That’s not cool/fair/ethical/right.”
- “I have so much to do. I’m so overwhelmed. There’s no way I can do everything I need to do.”
I used to say these in my head. All of them. ALL. THE. FREAKING. TIME.
How about you? (Yeah, truth time!)
Just a couple of years ago, I began realizing how severely toxic these thoughts are.
They create a negative emotional association with time, money, and energy that is completely self-fulfilling.
As long as you have an emotionally negative association with something, you cannot welcome it positively into your life.
Anna Saucier
It is not easy to change these negative associations, but it’s most definitely possible.
Your brain operates on order, routine, habit.
It will continue to use and validate past thinking patterns unless you consciously retrain it.
In order to make these shifts to a positive association with time, money, and energy, you have to retrain your brain out of its current patterns.
I want to share with you more about each of these areas individually and give you some tools on how to begin making the shifts.
I wrote it all out for this blog post, but it ended up being WAY too long! So, I’ve created a PDF you can download (sign-up below!) and read it on your own time by saving it to your phone or desktop.
Here’s to rewiring our brains and creating positive associations through new habits, routines, and order!
